Hace apenas unas horas se han dado a conocer en la capital inglesa el nombre de los nominados a los Premios BAFTA 2012, entre los cuales se vuelve a colar el manchego Almodóvar con La Piel que Habito. Complicado lo tendrá nuestro director español pues vuelve a competir con la iraní A Separation que allí por donde pisa arrasa.
Pocos cambios, aunque sí algunos, se ven en la lista de los British Academy of Film and Television Arts con respecto a las nominaciones y premiados que estamos viviendo en esta temporada de galardones. Vuelven a estar The Artist, The Descendant, Criadas y Señoras (The Help), Drive y también se cuela El Topo (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) en las nominadas a Mejor Película.
En categoría de Mejor Director han sido nominados Martin Scorsese por Hugo (galardón que obtuvo el pasado 15 de enero en los Golden Globes), Nicolas Winding Refn por Drive, Michel Hazanavicius por The Artist, y nos encontramos con dos nombres no tan sonados como estos tres primeros, Lynne Ramsay por Tenemos que hablar de Kevin y Thomas Alfredson por El Topo.
Meryl Streep se lleva otra nominación por su interpretación en Iron Lady por la que se llevó el Globo de Oro y se enfrenta a Michelle Williams por su papel en My Week with Marilyn, Bérénice Bejo por The Artist, Tilda Swilton por Tenemos que hablar de Kevin y Viola Davis por Criadas y Señoras.
Entre ellos, como ya es habitual, suena con fuerza George Clooney (que también obtuvo su Globo de Oro por The Descendant el pasado domingo), que compite con su amigo Brad Pitt (Moneyball), Michael Fassbender (Shame), Gary Oldman (El Topo) y Jean Dujardin (The Artist).
Vemos sin sorpresa, pero sí con alegría, la nominación de Woody Allen por su original guión de Midnight in Paris, celebración a la que imaginamos tampoco acudirá.
Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) y Holliday Grainger (Jane Eyre) han sido los encargados de anunciar la lista de los nominados cuyos afortunados ganadores serán conocidos el próximo día 12 de Febrero en una ceremonia que será llevada a cabo en el Royal Opera House, con Stephen Fry como presentador, y con transmisión por las cadenas BBC One y BBC One HD (la alfombra roja sólo será emitida por la cadena BBC Three).
