Anoche, 23 de febrero, se hizo entrega de los Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 en el O2 Academy Brixton de Londres.
My Chemical Romance fueron los grandes ganadores de la noche, encargándose de la apertura de la ceremonia y llevándose a casa dos de los premios, mejor banda internacional y mejor vídeo. A estos se le unieron Muse como mejor grupo británico o Arcade Fire por el premio al mejor álbum del año por The Suburbs.
