Después de su sorprendente vuelta, todos estamos expectantes ante la salida del nuevo disco de David Bowie. Todavía habrá que esperar hasta el 12 de marzo, cuando se editará The Next Day a través de Columbia Records. Como está lejos y el primer single, Where are we now?, nos supo a poco, Bowie ha anunciado en Facebook, con portada y todo, que un nuevo tema está en camino. The stars (are out tonight) saldrá el 26 de febrero como nuevo aperitivo del álbum. Según el tracklist se trata del corte número 3:
